Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Does Medicare cover any home health care costs? What about Long Term Care insurance?
While Medicare does cover most therapy and skilled nursing, unfortunately it does not pay for custodial type care at home. Long Term Care Insurance is a great way to pay for home health care services and our specialists will review your policy, and assist you in qualifying for and receiving payments.

  2. Am I tied into a contract for a certain length of time with your company?
No. Every one of our clients’ needs are unique and a minimum contract time just doesn’t make sense. We provide care based on our clients’ needs, not the company’s bottom line.

  3. Is there a minimum number of hours required?
Most Medicare visits can be completed in less than one hour. Private pay visits have a 3-hour minimum but no minimum hours per week.

  4. Does it cost more for nights and weekends? Holidays?
We like to keep it simple for you, so we only charge one rate for days, nights and weekends. Our only exceptions are for New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, which are billed at one and a half times the normal rate.

  5. Are your caregiver’s independent contractors or employees?
All of our caregivers are direct employees of Mobile Personal Services Home Health Care Agency. Because of this, we pay all applicable payroll taxes and cover their Workers’ Compensation Insurance as well. Make sure to ask the companies you call if their caregivers are direct employees.

  6. What happens when a caregiver calls in sick?
We guarantee that every shift is covered.

  7. Are you licensed, bonded and insured?
Mobile Personal Services is a licensed home health agency by the state of Florida and carries all necessary professional and liability insurance and are bonded as well.

  8. How long have you been in business?
We’ve been in business since 1991. The Agency is Medicare Certified with accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Healthcare.

  9. What if the caregiver you send isn’t a good fit?
Sometimes a caregiver we send is not the right match for any number of reasons with your loved one. If for any reason you are not extremely satisfied with the caregiver that is sent, all you have to do is call and we will make the necessary changes.

  10. How do you choose your caregivers?
We only employ caregivers that we would feel comfortable helping our own mothers and grandmothers. Because of this, we perform a nationwide criminal background check, peer references, personal interview, drug testing, skill demonstration, competency exams, which are verified by our Director of Nursing. Being a well established home health care agency we have a large pool of caregivers to choose from and always focus on making the right match with your loved one based upon personality, skill set, geography and availability. We understand that continuity of care is important and we always strive to make sure you have a good fit.
